Welcome to your path to digital connectivity with Telefonía_MX! We are excited to accompany you in the activation of your new eSIM. Here you will find a step-by-step guide to install and activate your eSIM correctly and without complications.

Previous requirements

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

1. A stable Internet connection, preferably to a Wi-Fi network, without an active VPN.

2. Native coverage in Mexico for AT&T or Movistar users, and native/roaming coverage for Neww users in Mexico or the United States.

3. The latest software version (iOS or Android) on your device (not beta version).

Important Note: Do not interrupt the installation process. Activating your eSIM may take a few minutes.

Installation instructions per device


1. Go to Settings > Cellular network.

2. Choose Add eSIM > Use QR code.

3. Scan the QR code provided or select the Open Photos option if you have previously stored it.

4. Tap Add data plan and wait for your eSIM to activate.


1. Navigate to Settings > Connections.

2. Select SIM Card Manager.

3. Choose Add mobile plan.

4. Scan the QR code provided.

Additional Instructions

If your order includes a Movistar eSIM, it is crucial to follow the instructions mentioned in the delivery email. You have 72 hours from the shipping date to activate your eSIM, or the QR code will expire.

APN configuration for Newww eSIM

For users with a Newww eSIM, it is important to configure the APN by accessing:

iPhone: Settings > Cellular network > eSIM Neww > Cellular data network

Samsung: Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Access point names > Add

Enter in all Access Point fields.

Assigned number query

AT&T eSIM: Go to Settings > Cellular network to see your number in the eSIM line section.

eSIM Neww and Movistar: You will receive your number via SMS. If you do not receive it, contact support.

Portability process

It is essential that you know that when selecting to port your current number to your new eSIM, you will initially be assigned a provisional number during the process. The portability is carried out within a period of 24 to 48 business hours after the activation of your eSIM. Once this period has ended, the number you chose to port will be automatically linked to your already installed eSIM, allowing you to continue with the service without interruptions. During this time, you will be able to use all the functions with the temporary number and you will not have to worry about the change, since we will take care of the entire process.

In case the provisional number of your new AT&T eSIM is still reflected in Settings, we recommend following the following steps:

1. Enter your phone's Settings.
2. Go to the Messages section.
3. Select Send and receive.
4. Within this option, click on the number you want to display.

    This should help your device recognize and display the ported number.

    eSIM transfer

    If you need to replace your Newww eSIM, contact our support via WhatsApp to request a replacement for $149. If your eSIM is from another company, consider porting to another, and after 30 days, you can return to the original company by placing a new portability order.

    Additional Information

    Regardless of whether your eSIM is from AT&T, Movistar or Neww, the installation instructions are the same. You can change the default line whenever you need. Remember that the QR code on your eSIM is for single use only. If you try to install it more than once, you will receive an error message, and no exchanges or returns will be accepted.
