With an AT&T Mexico eSIM, you can activate a new line or keep your number through portability, without using a physical SIM.

When you buy an AT&T eSIM, you will receive your AT&T prepaid eSIM approximately 15 minutes after making the purchase, between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Mexico City time, every day.
The AT&T prepaid eSIM is delivered digitally.

Use the latest available version of iOS or Android. On an AT&T iPhone eSIM, update iOS before beginning installation.
Buy and install in Mexico
This AT&T e SIM must be purchased and installed once you are physically in Mexico and within the operator's coverage area. If you need to buy an AT&T e SIM, wait until you are in the country to complete the process.
Installation and activation require native AT&T coverage. Extended coverage is not valid for completing this process.
Install via QR
Installation uses a one-time-use AT&T eSIM QR code. Once the AT&T eSIM is installed, do not delete the profile from the device.
A digital SIM
Your AT&T digital chip is stored directly on the device. This AT&T virtual chip replaces the physical card only for the new line purchased.
It may also be identified as AT&T digital SIM, AT&T virtual SIM, AT&T virtual SIM, or AT&T electronic SIM. In some English menus, a similar reference such as AT&T virtual SIM card may appear.
The AT&T MX eSIM works as an integrated digital SIM. If you find references such as AT eSIM or AT T eSIM, confirm that the profile corresponds to AT&T.
YOUR NUMBER Number and portability
New line
When requesting an AT&T eSIM, you can choose one of the available predefined number series.
The series corresponds to the first 2 or 3 digits of the number that will be assigned.
If the series you want does not appear, select “Other”.
The AT&T eSIM card received by email will be associated with the assigned number after installation and linking are completed.
Portability
AT&T eSIM portability allows you to keep a number from any operator other than AT&T.
To choose this option, select the “Portability” number series and complete the fields that appear during checkout.
The process takes approximately 24 to 48 business hours. During this period, a temporary number will be assigned.
If you are looking for an eSIM ATT with the same number, this option applies when your number comes from another operator.
No SIM replacement
This product does not allow you to replace a physical AT&T SIM with an eSIM, whether through portability or any other procedure.
The eSIM ATT Mexico corresponds to a new line or portability from another operator. The ATT Mexico eSIM does not convert an existing physical AT&T SIM.
REQUIRED Linking
By official regulation, the line must be linked to the account holder's identity.
Account holder's identity Required documents
Mexican citizens can complete the linking process using an INE, passport, or CURP. Foreign nationals must use a passport.
Top-up activation After completing the linking process
The prepaid AT&T eSIM will remain without service until the linking process is completed correctly.
After the process, AT&T will provide you with a reference number. Reply to the Telefonía_MX delivery email with that reference number to continue activating the included top-up.
Linking period Maximum 10 days
You have a maximum of 10 days to complete the linking process and reply to the email with the linking reference number. After this period, the QR code will expire.
PREPAID Top-ups
This prepaid eSIM ATT includes the top-up you select when purchasing it. As a prepaid ATT eSIM, it does not require a mandatory monthly fee. You can also use your prepaid ATT eSIM by making new top-ups whenever you need them.
If you plan to purchase an eSIM ATT, the final price depends on the selected top-up. AT&T eSIM plans and eSIM ATT plans in this category work through top-ups.

Price and future top-ups
The AT&T eSIM price includes the selected top-up. The eSIM ATT price varies according to the amount you choose.
The eSIM AT&T price corresponds to the combination of the digital line and the selected top-up. The same applies when checking eSIM AT&T Mexico price, eSIM AT&T price, eSIM ATT price, or eSIM AT&T Mexico price.
You do not need an additional AT&T eSIM plan. The eSIM ATT plans for this option are maintained through top-ups.
Once the included top-up's validity period begins, you only need to top up the corresponding amount again.
The line can remain without a top-up for up to 60 days. You can make top-ups and manage your service from the Mi AT&T app.

Lamentamos los inconvenientes. Es importante mencionar que la asignación de números es totalmente al azar y depende completamente del operador. Una vez se asigna dicho número, no es posible volver a cambiarlo, es por ello que se ofreció la alternativa de una nueva eSIM por un precio mayormente reducido.

Hola, despite first eSIM from Newww not being able to change to 984 number, I opted for another carrier AT&T which allows it. Ivan at customer support was incredibly competent, fully bilingual and very helpful in the process. If not for his patience and presence, I would have considered another eSIM provider. Salud!

La instalación fue muy sencilla y estoy contento por haber resuelto.
Mejoras también hay, pensé en calificar con 4 estrellas porque hubieron errores en el proceso de instalación… primero en el orden que esperaba encontrar siguiendo el paso a paso por las instrucciones. Se ve que es para otra versión de iOS y no la más actual. Segundo porque necesité de una computadora (u otro celular) para escanear el código QR, ya que aparece directo la cámara y no vi dónde picar a fotos para escanearlo. Al final se resolvió fácil y cuento con mi línea desde el momento funcionando!!
