What Do I Need to Use an eSIM?
- A unlocked device compatible with eSIM
- Have access to stable internet for activation
- An updated operating system (iOS, Android, HarmonyOS…)
Manufacturer Compatibility
Apple
All iPhones from the XS model onwards are compatible with eSIM, as long as they are unlocked and updated.
In the case of the iPad, only models with cellular functionality and activated eSIM support allow the use of this type of digital connection.
Samsung
The latest lines from Samsung, such as Galaxy S, Z Flip, and Fold, include eSIM compatibility in selected versions (not all).
Make sure that your model has the option "Add eSIM" visible in the settings menu.
Google Pixel
All Pixel models from version 3 onwards support eSIM.
Important: some versions purchased in Japan or through U.S. carriers may have this feature disabled by software.
Huawei
Models like the P40 and the Mate 40 Pro include support for eSIM, as long as they have the feature enabled and the software updated.
Check in Settings → Network if the option "Digital SIM" or similar appears.
Other manufacturers
Brands like Motorola, OPPO, Sony, Xiaomi, HONOR, Lenovo, and others have released models with eSIM support.
Not all devices include it, but you can easily check in your device's network settings. If you see the option "Add eSIM" or "Digital SIM," it is compatible.
Tablets and other devices
Some models of iPad, Android tablets, and Windows laptops also support eSIM.
You just need to verify that the version is cellular (not just Wi-Fi) and has the eSIM feature enabled.
NOT compatible with
- iPhones purchased in China
- Carrier-locked devices (not unlocked)
- Devices without recent updates or without a visible eSIM option in settings
