It is the process of associating a mobile line with its owner.

Starting in 2026, mobile lines in Mexico subject to this requirement must be associated with an identified individual or legal entity.

For prepaid lines, registration is completed directly through the mechanisms enabled by the telephone company.

Telefonía_MX does not perform identity verification

Telefonía_MX sells and delivers the eSIM. The linking is completed directly with the corresponding operator.

The operator may request photos of your identification and validation using the device's camera.

When finished, save the confirmation or reference number provided by your telephone company.

What if I am a foreign national?

You can also identify a mobile line in Mexico.

The regulations provide for identification of foreign nationals. In these cases, details such as name, country of origin and passport number, according to the provider's procedure.

Does registration cost anything?
No. Line registration is free.
Does Telefonía_MX store my ID, CURP, or passport?
Registration is carried out through the mechanisms enabled by the telephone company. Telefonía_MX acts as the sales and eSIM delivery channel, not as an identity-registration platform.
How many lines can I register?
An individual may register up to 10 mobile lines. Different terms apply to legal entities.
How do I know whether my line has been registered?
Once the process has been completed correctly, the carrier must provide confirmation.
What happens if I do not register my line?
A line subject to registration may be disabled if they do not complete the registration within the applicable deadline.
Can I register the line in someone else's name?
The identity used must correspond to the person who completes the registration, in accordance with the carrier's requirements.
Can a minor register the line?
The registration must be completed by a parent or guardian according to the applicable procedure.
Does this apply to data-only travel eSIMs?
Not automatically. This obligation is related with Mexican mobile lines subject to identification requirements. Data-only travel eSIMs may have different terms.
Does this apply to carrier eSIMs from the United States or Spain?
No. This guide covers the registration process for carrier lines in Mexico. Lines from other countries follow their own terms.
Should I delete my eSIM if it has not been registered yet?
No. If you have any problems with registration or activation, contact support before deleting the installed profile.
