Link Your Mobile Line

As of January 9, 2026, all mobile lines of operators in Mexico under prepaid modality must be linked to the identity of the end user through CURP or official identification, in accordance with the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law.

Why Is It Mandatory?

This provision was implemented to strengthen digital security and combat the anonymous use of mobile lines for criminal purposes. The measure was established by the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) and is part of the National Anti-Extortion Strategy.

What Do I Need to Link My Line?

  • CURP or official identity document (INE or passport).
  • An active phone number.
  • Access to the internet or to a customer service center of the corresponding operator.

Relevant Deadlines

  • January 9, 2026: Official start of the line linking process.
  • June 29, 2026: Deadline to complete the linking.
  • June 30, 2026: Unlinked lines will be disabled and can only be used for emergency calls and receiving alerts.

How to Link Your Line?

The linking can be done directly from your cell phone or at authorized centers of the operator. In the case of lines purchased through Telefonía_MX, you will receive linking instructions once your eSIM has been installed correctly.

Depending on the operator, the notification will include a registration link, either by email or via SMS. This process is mandatory and must be completed within 30 days after installation to avoid service suspension.

User Responsibility

  • This obligation applies only to prepaid lines of national operators.
  • It is the sole responsibility of the user to complete the linking process.
  • Each individual may register up to 10 mobile lines with their CURP.
  • Telefonía_MX acts solely as a digital distribution channel and does not perform direct linking with operators.

We recommend completing the linking as soon as you receive the notification after the installation of your eSIM.
