Installation and Requirements
Purchase and install your Telcel prepaid eSIM while you are in Mexico or the United States. Your Telcel prepaid eSIM includes the selected recharge and is linked from the date we send your Telcel eSIM chip to your email. When purchasing Telcel eSIM, installation is done via QR code (one-time use) and a notification of Telcel eSIM is sent to your device's EID.
This Telcel eSIM requires the latest version of the Android or iOS operating system and it is not necessary to contract Telcel eSIM plans.
You must be in Mexico or the United States for your Telcel virtual chip to be activated.
By official provision, when purchasing Telcel eSIM you must link your line with your INE, CURP, or passport (applies to foreigners and locals) to your Telcel prepaid eSIM. For foreigners with a non-Mexican passport, linking requires visiting any physical store. Residents or locals can perform the linking online. A link will be sent to complete the process in the delivery email. Your Telcel eSIM for iPhone will remain inactive until it is linked. More information here.
Your Line
New line: when purchasing Telcel eSIM online, select a Numeric Series from the available options for your Telcel friend eSIM.
From the validity of the included recharge, you only need to recharge the amount of your recharge to maintain your Telcel 5G eSIM line. If you prefer, your Telcel virtual eSIM can remain up to 60 days without recharging.

Warranty
72-hour warranty when contracting Telcel eSIM. Applies only to issues related to the QR code, except if the Telcel eSIM iPhone is deleted and reinstalled. Does not cover issues due to misuse, installation on incompatible devices, or problems related to incorrect installation of the Telcel virtual chip.

QR Code
The QR code for activating the eSIM Telcel is for one-time use only and cannot be scanned more than once. Contact support in case of any issues with your eSIM at Telcel.
Activation
When buying the SIM Telcel, it requires coverage in Mexico or the United States to be activated; it cannot be activated in another country. We recommend purchasing the Telcel friend eSIM kit while already in Mexico.
Identity Linking
By official provision, when purchasing a Telcel virtual chip for iPhone, mandatory linking with INE, CURP, or passport is required, without exceptions. If you are a tourist, you can link your line with a passport only in person at any Telcel store. The line of your Telcel iPhone eSIM remains inactive until the linking is completed through the link included in the delivery email of your Telcel eSIM Mexico.
Prepaid Mode
The Telcel eSIM price includes the selected recharge. The Telcel prepaid eSIM is Telcel friend eSIM: you are not subject to Telcel eSIM plans. Once the included recharge in your order is finished, you can recharge only the amount you choose. When activating the Telcel eSIM, your eSIM line with Telcel can remain for up to 60 days without recharging.
SIM and eSIM Telcel
It is not possible to replace a physical SIM when contracting a Telcel eSIM. It is suggested to port the line to another operator (for example, AT&T, Axios, or Newww).
