Installation and Requirements
Purchase and install your Bait eSIM once you are in Mexico or the United States. Your Bait eSIM includes the selected top-up, is pre-activated, and is linked from the date your eSIM is installed. Installation is via QR code (one-time use).
This Bait eSIM requires the latest version of the Android or iOS operating system and a device compatible with band 28; check compatibility here.
You must be in Mexico or the United States for your eSIM to activate.
By official regulation, you must link your line with your INE, CURP, or passport (applies to foreigners and locals) to your line. A link will be sent to complete the process in the delivery email. Your Bait digital chip will remain inactive until it is linked. More information here.
Your Line
New line: Does Bait have eSIM? Yes, and it comes pre-activated with an area code 81 (Mexico City). If you wish to change it, you can request the adjustment of your Bait digital chip later.
Portability: Bait virtual chip with your current number on your Bait eSIM. Select the portability numeric series and enter your number and PIN in the displayed fields. The process takes 24 to 48 business hours, and during that period, a temporary number will be assigned to your Bait virtual SIM.
From the validity of the included top-up, you only need to recharge the amount of your top-up to maintain your Bait virtual chip. If you prefer, your Bait digital SIM can remain up to 60 days without recharging.
Top-ups
120: Unlimited internet in Mexico, the United States, and Canada with your Bait virtual SIM. Once 5 GB are consumed, speed reduction applies for the rest of the validity.
Does Bait handle eSIM? Yes, and you can recharge your line through any physical or virtual means that accept Bait top-ups.
Coverage and Features
Connect with the national LTE network (Altán Redes) on your eSIM. Your Bait digital SIM includes VoLTE and roaming with Telcel. Check coverage here.
The GB of your line accumulates if you recharge from 1 day before it expires. This only applies to the GB of the package, not to promotional or bonus data.
Warranty
72-hour warranty on your eSIM. This only applies to issues related to the QR code, except if the eSIM is deleted and reinstalled. It does not cover issues due to misuse, installation on incompatible devices, or problems related to incorrect installation.

QR Code
The QR code is for one-time use and cannot be scanned more than once. Contact support in case of any issues.
Activation
Your eSIM requires coverage exclusively in Mexico or the United States to be activated; it cannot be activated in another country. We recommend purchasing and installing/activating your eSIM while in Mexico or the United States.
Identity Linking
By official regulation when purchasing your eSIM, mandatory linking with INE or CURP is required, without exceptions. If you are a tourist, you can link your line with a passport. The line remains inactive until the linking is completed through the link included in the delivery email.
Prepaid Mode
The price of your eSIM includes the selected recharge. The eSIM is prepaid: you are not subject to a rental plan. Once the included recharge in your order is finished, you can recharge only the amount you choose. The line can remain for up to 60 days without recharging.
